Our paperwork is approved! They will be sending us the LSC (letter seeking confirmation) by next week. This is a paper that we will sign saying that we still want to adopt Alex. Then we only wait for Travel Approval and we travel 2 weeks after that!!! So most likely we will travel in 5 or 6 weeks :)
Thanks for your prayers!

A little update.
No LOA yet (day 75), but I got a little e-mail from my China person who checks on Cheng:
"He is doing great with other kids. He likes laughing and eating . He is not picky at all. He loves bananas and oranges a lot. He likes noodles, steamed bun and different meat.
He hopes to see the family as soon as possible."
Hope to see you soon too, baby.

Please pray for our papers
Since this Tuesday, we have been trying to find out what is going on with our dossier. Every month our agency checks with the CCAA for status. This month they listed my dossier as a step behind where it supposedly was last month! My agency has been trying to get in touch with someone over there, so far to no avail. I was expecting our LOA (letter of acceptance) on Monday, but now who knows? If we don't hear anything next week, I'll know something is wrong. If everything is normal, I hope to travel at the beginning of August. I appreciate your prayers!

Praying with knowledge

A few weeks ago, our pastor spoke on the concept of "praying with knowledge". He said that it meant praying specifically. I started writing down everything I could think of, and it really did seem to help. So here are some specific things that you can pray for Cheng about:
1) Protection from illness
2) Protection from older children or anyone who would harm him
3) Homes for the other children
4) Comfort and hope in his heart as he grieves his foster family he left in April.
5) He has been shown an album of photos of us-pray that he will make some kind of connection and understanding that we are coming.
6) Salvation for him, the other children and workers.
7) His future adjustment and bonding with us
8) Integrity for the workers processing his paperwork and that we may be allowed to pick him up soon.
If everything goes the way it has for other families in our province, we should travel at the end of July/ beginning of August. Which reminds me of another prayer request- that God would be with us in the midst of any Olympic craziness and higher ticket prices!

Have you ever seen an angel?

I'm pretty sure I have. This picture was taken yesterday. He received our care package and was shown pictures of his forever family. The orphanage seems to be taking good care of him and have been willing to communicate with us, which we so appreciate. Many of the pictures contained other children living there. I know their faces will stay with us, as long as there are children without families. I'm ashamed to think how much I have prayed for my own son, and often forgotten them. I was also touched to see that some elderly lived there as well. It must bring them some happiness to see little ones around. Alex's nanny has a beautiful smile.
