Alex sighting!

I got a nice little update on Alex the other day from a friend who is China right now adopting her own little guy. She said she walked into the orphanage and the first child she saw was Alex! She took lots of pics but hasn't been able to post them. She said he looked healthy. The best part is that she felt that the staff was very friendly and caring. I have to tell you after this news and the LOA I feel so relieved!

Our signed LSC is on its way back to China now, so give me a T, give me an A- what's that spell? TA!!!! I'll start dreaming about that around July 28-that will be 2 weeks from Monday. (But it could take up to 4 weeks)

Tonight Dora complained "we're never getting Alex until I'm six or seven!" I tried to explain that she just turned 5 and we'll have Alex by September for sure, but the concept of time is still sketchy. I bought a big classroom calendar and have it up in the dining room (which does double duty as the schoolroom). That has helped a great deal with understanding time within the month anyway. There is a weather box too, which we get really excited if we can change "sunny". We should make a label "boiling hot Mississippi sun", with a little picture of mommy fainting as she begs Zach to please into the car so we can put the A/C on.

Speaking of which, the A/C in our car bit the dust today. Sigh...the old Honda has served various family members well, but it's really on it's last legs, er...wheels. And it's going to be a squeeze to fit Alex in there. Remember when we were growing up, people always squeezed 3 kids in the backseat of a car? I was the youngest, so I got the hump of course. But anyway back then, you didn't have the boosters and car seats to fit in. (plus they were big old boats-I remember our brown impala in the 80's). I am really praying for a new vehicle, for this reason and because I would really love to take some road trips and see my family more often (they are up north).

Love to all, Pam

HI Pam!! That is your little boy!!!!!! OH!! I always thought he was the cutest thing ever. As a matter of fact, he appeared on the list right after we sent in the LOI for Mylei. I would have REALLY considered him had we not been drawn to Mylei... who had the exact same diagnosis by the way.

Before I forget, this is April from milesandmilestomylei.blogspot.com

I hope last night's post didn't sound cold when
speaking about not getting Mylei. I just sometimes really try to understand why we didn't get her. And, I wonder if it was God protecting me from something???

Anyway, I was so excited to see that little boy! I am so glad he is getting a great home!!
